Dr. Lou Graham hosts a presentation and panel discussion on Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) as how it is used today as part of our Minimally Invasive Dentistry. Each of the presenters will share how they use SDF within their practice. How they treat patients and reduce aerosols during this global pandemic. Each of the key presenters will review their cases, and a hands-on video demonstration will be provided. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Lou Graham on the science and evidence and why they choose to use SDF on their patients.

In this 3-hour video, you will learn how these dentists effectively implement treatment plans to slow caries progression, arrest caries, and place interim restorative treatment. You will learn about silver diamine fluoride / potassium iodide, and glass ionomer restorative materials and how to use these tools to help manage your geriatric and pediatric patient population.

At the conclusion of this course you will know:

  1. Two reasons why SDF improves patient periodontal care with Rx tray delivery
  2. You will learn the science about silver diamine fluoride and potassium iodine
  3. What benefits glass ionomers play as a role in managing pediatric and geriatric patients
  4. Explain the caries process, caries risk assessment, and treatment options (including when to treat chemically and when to treat surgically)
  5. Explain clinical indications, benefits, risks, proper handling and placement techniques of Glass restoratives, SDF and the SMART Technique
