COURSE SUMMARY In this 1-hour video, Dr. Favagehi provides an overview of bone stability concepts around implants, and relevant concepts such as platform switching, biologic width space formation, micro-threads, implant surface types, and the effect of the restorative connection on bone stability around implants. The zero bone loss concept and protocol advocated by Dr. Tomas Linkevicius will be presented, along with how peri-implant bone stability can be achieved by avoiding negative non-implant factors. The presentation will conclude with development of bone loss around implants.

SPEAKER DETAILS Dr. Mehrdad Favagehi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics. He received his dental education and specialty training at the Virginia Commonwealth University and The Ohio State University. He has received a teaching award from the American Academy of Periodontology in 2011. Dr. Favagehi is currently the Chairman of the Research Submissions Committee of the Academy of Osseointegration. He has lectured in the area of implants and lasers nationally and internationally. Dr. Favagehi and his wife Dr. Christopher have maintained a private practice of Periodontics & Dental Implant Surgery in Falls Church, VA since 1997.
