Dr. Scherer’s Same-Day LOCATOR Laboratory Reline Protocol:

Step 1: Coordinate same-day or evening laboratory reline, see the patient in the early morning or late afternoon.

Step 2: Remove healing abutments, size LOCATOR or LOCATOR R-Tx abutment tissue heights. (May need to be done prior to reline visit if you don’t keep stock/inventory)

Step 3: Irrigate implant with water or irrigating solution, place LOCATOR or LOCATOR R-Tx abutment, hang-tighten

Step 4: Make radiograph (PA/PAN) confirming full-adaptation, torque to manufacturer’s recommended value

Step 5: Remove existing denture liner (hard or soft liner), place block-out spacers & housings onto abutments, use CHAIRSIDE Light-Body PVS to check for any areas of denture contact

Optional Step: If you need to change denture borders, air-dry denture, place PVS adhesive, and use CHAIRSIDE heavy body to inject onto borders and border mold on edentulous ridge

Step 6: Size recesses appropriately (if needed), air dry, and apply PVS adhesive

Step 7: Inject CHAIRSIDE Medium-body PVS into intaglio of denture, seat onto edentulous ridge, instruct patient to bite down lightly and border mold edges.

Step 8: After complete polymerization remove prosthesis, remove spacers & housings, spray & send to laboratory (optional step: include laboratory parts) for hard reline

Step 9: After receiving back from lab, use pressure-indicating paste and adjust to fit to tissues, use CHAIRSIDE Denture Prep & Polish Kit and CHAIRSIDE Attachment Processing Material to process housings to denture
